• Shanghai Travel Diary – Part 1

Here’s to another travel post! I’ve been to Shanghai a few times for work, and I’ve compiled a few places I went to in the past year=P (hence the short hair and bump free pictures. Haha!) I tend to like jotting down little notes when I travel, and have always had the intention of writing about my travels – mostly for myself, so I have something to look back on, but somehow that thought always gets set aside, but not anymore! Let me share a little bit of that here, and maybe it may be helpful to some people!=) Some of the Shanghai travels were during the holiday seasons, and…

  • A Pregnancy Christmas in San Francisco!

Happy Holidays everyone! Just wanted to do a quick Christmas post and pregnancy update. First pregnancy related post! ( Just FYI, most of the travel adventures from previous posts were made before pregnancy) I’ll be 32 weeks as of tomorrow! This is Smiles (our soon-to-be 5 year old dog baby). We adopted him from the Honolulu Humane Society when he was 4 months old. He is a sweet heart! We took Smiles to Delores Park for the first time a few weeks ago, and he had a blast exploring. I’m sure he enjoyed posing in front of the camera as well=P I’m at 30 weeks in these pictures =) Gaining…

Hello! Let me introduce you to one of my all time favorite recipes – apple turnovers! What better way than to make some delicious apple turners for a snack, family gatherings, or the holidays! This recipe is super easy and only requires a few ingredients. Random fact – this is actually my first time making this recipe, and I have to say it turned out so tasty! Thumbs up for experimenting! You can get the puff pastries at most grocery stores,…

  • A Day in New York

Happy holidays everyone! I know Thanksgiving just passed, but I had a short layover in New York for work around the holiday seasons, and wanted to share a little bit of what to do while here for only a day. This may be a little early for a “Christmas Post”, but for those planning to visit during this time of the year, it’s definitely a beautiful sight to see with all the lights and decorations up. New York is such a bustling and lively place, and taking a walk around while people watching – just enjoying the beautiful city – can always be squeezed in. I typically like to travel…

  • How to make Banana Bread

Banana bread is a classic! It’s great for a snack, bringing to potlucks, celebrating the holidays, and also breakfast! This recipe is super easy, it’s just the baking time that takes a little longer. Kai and I wanted to make this recipe for breakfast, so we added less sugar, but I have measured out an estimate below for those that want it sweeter. Feel free to add a little more or a little less sugar=) I also added yogurt to make the bread more moist, you can also use sour cream or buttermilk, or just milk. The banana bread is currently baking in the oven as I am writing this…

  • How to make an Oatmeal Papaya Bowl

Fruit bowls are such a cute and fun way to spice up a meal, whether it’s just for a snack or for breakfast. After living in Hawaii for some time, I’ve grown to love fruit bowls and papayas! Papayas are pretty cheap in Hawaii, and sometimes I could get them homegrown. Kai and I almost had one every other day! We’ve been so spoiled! Since moving back to the bay, papayas are quite expensive, so buying it feels like such a treat! Today I’m going to share with you how to make a breakfast papaya bowl. You can put oatmeal, acai, pudding, and any addition you like. I will be…

  • Hapalua Honolulu Half Marathon

Any runners out there?! A little side hobby of mine – running. Yes, I may sound crazy to some people, but we all have hobbies and apparently running is one of mine. Around April of this year, I ran a half marathon in Honolulu. Kai came to accompany me and ran part of the race with me, which is comforting. Having a personal cheerleader definitely helps! I’ve done other races with Kai by my side, but this was my first race that he didn’t sign up with me. For those that are planning to travel for this race, definitely book a few days before and after! It’ll give you a…

  • How to spend 2 Days in Los Angeles

Los Angeles is a beautiful destination to visit and has many amazing places and restaurants worth visiting. It’s a cool city to explore even for those that want a small getaway during the weekends or holidays! I actually had work in LA at the time, and Kai decided to accompany me since he had a few days off. We were mainly in central LA and close to the airport side. I’ve been to LA before, but this was Kai’s first time, so we ended up making a small vacation out of it, and wanted to share this great 2 day itinerary for those people just wanting to get a feel…

    How to make Teriyaki/Soysauce Chicken

Get ready for an AMAZING recipe – Inspired by Seonkyoung Longest! This recipe is great for lunch and dinner. It’s easy to make, and it goes well with rice or quino, veggies, and egg. It’s also super DELICIOUS and JUICY! I came across this recipe by Seonkyoung Longest and became inspired to recreate my own version, so I would like to share it here. Before I start, I’d like to say that the measurements here can definitely be modified. The first time I made this recipe, I used 2 spoonfuls of mirin and sake and only 1 spoonful of soy sauce. I wanted more of the sake and mirin flavor,…
