A Day in New York
Happy holidays everyone! I know Thanksgiving just passed, but I had a short layover in New York for work around the holiday seasons, and wanted to share a little bit of what to do while here for only a day. This may be a little early for a “Christmas Post”, but for those planning to visit during this time of the year, it’s definitely a beautiful sight to see with all the lights and decorations up. New York is such a bustling and lively place, and taking a walk around while people watching – just enjoying the beautiful city – can always be squeezed in. I typically like to travel with a few agendas in mind, and if I come across a cute little shop or place, it’s quite a bonus to see what I’ve discovered.
Byrant Park has lots of cute little stores and food stands. And of course you can’t miss the ice skating ring!
Saw some signs pointing to this tucked away cafe, and decided to walk in to check it out=)
A nice break with some hot matcha to warm up the bellies. Matchaful Cafe serves organic matcha, and coming from a person who loves matcha, this was a super cool find!=D YAY. They are located at 25 Jay St, Brooklyn, NY, 11201.
Cute little alley by the Brooklyn bridge area.
The Brooklyn Bridge is quite an iconic location, and there are usually many tourists and quite a few bikers too, so watch out!
New York has many incredible pizza places! My friend and I went to Juliana’s Pizza after walking for a while and got hungry. Their pizza is on the thin crust side, and good proportions. We ordered a mushroom basil pizza, and it hit the spot. There is usually a long wait, but luckily we went at a good time, and didn’t have to wait long. This place gets pretty busy!
And yes, of course I had to visit the famous Charging Bull and take this picture ^.^
Just had to get a picture with Wall Street and Broadway Street =P
This picture reminds me of Halloween and Chistmas at the same time.
Of course Times Square is a must see during the night time, as all the lights go up and the city becomes even more alive during this time!
I met up with my friend before leaving that morning, and she suggested this place. It was quite cozy, and the perfect ending to my short trip.
Until next time New York! I shall come back and explore more of you in the future. A little dab into the city had been a really nice treat! There is so much to do in New York, and I can’t wait to go back to watch some Broadway shows, eat some more yummy food, and just explore more of the city. For those with a short layover, I hope you found this interesting to read and helpful=)
